Benefits of Ford's CPO Program

A car is a person’s most prized possession, which is why it is important to be sure of every aspect before you make the purchase. If you have been thinking of buying a vehicle under the Ford certified pre-owned program (CPO), here are some benefits that you should know of. Under the Ford CPO program, every car undergoes the following inspections and checks.

1. Mileage check

The first step in the program is to meet Ford’s mileage requirements. All cars and trucks should have a mileage of under 100,000 miles to be eligible to join the program.

2. 172 point inspection

After meeting the mileage requirements, each vehicle undergoes an inspection that checks 172 points. Any minor errors identified in this step are rectified or replaced. However, if there are major issues with the vehicle, the Ford owner will be returned their car. Some of these checks include examining the car’s internal systems like climate control, electrical systems, and external systems like bumpers, frame, transmission, and powertrain.

3. CARFAX report

The CARFAX vehicle history report is a report that shows the car’s maintenance history. This includes information on collisions, accidents, etc. Without this report, the vehicle cannot qualify for the Ford CPO program. If the car has been in an accident or has been damaged in fire or floods, it will not be selected for the program.

Warranty Cover

The above-mentioned steps show how Ford screens every car so that the final product matches the customer’s expectations. In addition to the screening process, Ford also offers a warranty cover. The comprehensive limited warranty for a car extends to 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. This warranty covers approximately 1,000 components. Ford also offers a powertrain warranty for seven years or 100,000 miles, depending on whichever comes first. This warranty covers the engine, transmission, as well as the driveline.
