The F-450 is Ford's Super Duty full-sized dual rear-wheel (DRW) truck. The F-450 manages to mix innovation, comfort and style into a vehicle that boasts outstanding torque ratings, towing capacities and payloads unmatched by the competition.The 2012 F-450 is available in a 4x4 Crew Cab configuration only and offers three distinctive trims. The rugged and reliable XL, the well equipped XLT, and the luxurious Lariat. The standard engine is the innovative 6.7-liter turbo 400-hp V8 Powerstroke diesel with 800 lb.-ft. of torque and it is mated to a new TorqShift six-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift and a Tow/Haul mode. The F-450 offers standard amenities such as traction control, a hill launch assist feature, side curtain airbags, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel and trailer sway control. Available features include a supplemental cab heater, a reverse camera system, upfitter switches, a navigation system, a remote start system, satellite radio, SYNC, and a rear folding tailgate step. Also, the unique Ford Work Solution options provide innovative solutions for trucks used in the work place.For 2012, the Ford F-450 adds MyKey on the XL trim. On the XLT and Lariat trims, new standard features include 1-touch up and 1-touch down front driver and passenger windows and 4-way adjustable front head restraints. On the Lariat trim, new standard features include a deep tinted power sliding rear window with defrost.
